Description
Indications:
- Their use is indicated for women with an excessively narrow vagina, which may have been caused by the following situations:
- after childbirth, scarring following perineal incision (episiotomy) or tear.
- oncological treatment with radiation or chemotherapy.
- after gynaecological surgery with vaginal narrowing and scar retraction.
- vaginismus (contraction of the vaginal muscles).
- vaginal narrowing.
- dermatological conditions, such as certain forms of lichen, for example: lichen sclerosus.
- after gender reassignment surgery (male to female) to keep the artificially formed vagina open.
- pain during gynaecological examinations.
- pain when inserting a tampon.
- pain during sexual intercourse.
Vagiwell® dilators are indicated in all these situations to widen the vagina. In the case of vaginismus, the aim is not to widen the vagina, but to practise inserting an object into the vagina.
