Environment and Environmental Awareness

 

At Fleming, we are committed to the environment. That is why we do everything within our power to increase our sustainability as a company. With the implementation of the environmental management system (ISO 14001), we certify that all our processes comply with current environmental regulatory requirements.

Among the various actions we have taken over all these years are reducing electricity consumption by using LED lighting throughout our facilities, collecting rainwater for reuse, and separating and recycling all waste generated during our processes. In addition, we use recycled and recyclable materials in our product packaging (both plastic and cardboard).

In addition, all translucent warehouse panels have been replaced with new ones to make the most of natural light throughout our facilities.

75.6% of the electricity we consume in our facilities comes from renewable sources.

Nevertheless, we are not satisfied with these actions, and therefore we continue working to implement all kinds of measures that help reduce our footprint on the planet. We want to start using, in the near future, the latest innovation in sustainable packaging that is even better than the current one, as well as continue setting ourselves rigorous targets to reduce resource consumption year after year.

At Fleming, we want to improve people’s quality of life, and to do so we need our planet to keep breathing and taking care of us. Because every little bit counts.
