Bowl-shaped pessary with drainage holes and wide central opening for intravaginal application. Pessary height varies between 17-25mm.
Description
Indications:
This pessary is indicated for pregnant women with cervical dilation and, therefore, at risk of premature birth in women at risk of prolapse, subjected to physical strain such as standing for long periods, increased intrauterine pressure (polyhydramnios/multiple pregnancy) or shortened cervix.
The purpose of the pessary is not to occlude the cervix, but to relieve tension on the cervical tissue and modify the utero-cervical angle. The pessary supports the cervix.
When the pessary is inserted into the vagina, it creates additional support for the pelvic organs, restores the anatomical relationship between the pelvic organs and eliminates/reduces the manifestation of prolapse.
In addition, it serves as a non-surgical conservative correction of genital prolapse, including vaginal vault prolapse following complete hysterectomy, and prevention of postoperative vaginal adhesions.
